Guest Apartment

The brief was clear: to create a space for visiting guests who stay for longer periods, but don't want to feel like they are getting in anyone's way.

We’ve seen tons of new-build studio apartments, but this one needed a proper reset. The client wasn’t afraid to go all in, so the developer 'standards' were thrown out the window. We gutted the bathroom, replaced the doors, and swapped the tired wooden floor and tiles for a seamless polyurethane screed. The space caught its breath, cleared out, and visually expanded.

We broke down the original single-room layout into distinct zones and custom-built everything. The centerpiece is a generous daybed that functions as a comfortable sofa during the day and turns into a king-size bed at night. We didn't forget a workspace with a large round mirror, either—because in the morning you need to answer emails, and in the evening you need to look great before hitting the town.

And then, there’s passion. The owner loves cycling even more than his morning coffee. So in the hallway, we designed a built-in wardrobe with an honorary spot right at its core for his road bike. Whenever the apartment is empty, it serves as his launchpad for rides. And what if one of the guests gets the bug, too? There are spare bikes waiting in the storage room—just hop on. In the bathroom, we swapped the tub for a proper walk-in shower, which is exactly what you need after a hard ride or a long-haul flight from the other side of the world.
