House with a ramp
We walk down the street, observing surrounding houses laden with the buildup and weight accumulated over several decades. One house, however, is exceptional in some way. We approach it, a house that appears ordinary, but upon closer inspection, we begin to understand its ziggurat-like form.

Meanwhile, as Vašek harvests this year's yield from the industrious bees on the roof, Bóža deftly glides down the ramp. Bořek gives a quick wave from his playroom window, and Kristýna brings out plates full of good food. In the garden, preparations for a Sunday barbecue are reaching their peak.
The gate to the house makes a faint squeaking sound, signaling that we are welcome. In the background, only the muffled cries of neighboring children enjoying the last summer days by the pool can be heard. We walk through the red gate and step inside.
Behind the glazed front door lies a simple space dominated at first glance by freedom and openness. We proceed through the house past bedrooms prepared for evening rest. Bóža zips down the hallway in her wheelchair, passing us and disappearing around a rounded corner. For there opens the heart of the lower apartment. A glass wall lets eastern light filter into the kitchen, which is connected to the dining area and living room. But there is also a greenhouse. Filled to bursting, it offers ripe bell peppers and other plants that are hard to recognize at first glance. The doors to the terrace are open almost all summer long, allowing us to catch the scent of charcoal from the grill that is just heating up.
Bořek comes running into the garden. Holding Lego in his hand, he urges us to come see his newly started building set. So off we go. We ascend the preserved staircase to the second level of the house. Meanwhile, Bóža has circled the entire house and ridden up the ramp into her kingdom. Bořek is already showing us his collection of building sets and, full of energy, pulls us further through the upper apartment. It is immediately clear that Bóža reigns here. Everything is tailored to her stunt-like maneuvering in a wheelchair. Moving through the kitchen space, which is open to the roof rafters offering sleepover spots for friends, we walk out onto the terrace itself. From there, the whole garden is visible—green, yet fading under the approach of autumn.

We look down into the garden and take in the view. Suddenly, Vašek's voice interrupts us: "Guys, you have to see this!" We turn our gaze and look upward with our heads tilted back. So we continue further up the ramp, reaching the roof terrace. Amidst the buzzing of bees, we fearlessly look at the hives, which are now standing empty. It is clear out, and the view from the roof stretches far into the distance.
But now Kristýna is calling us from the garden. The grill has seared the first batch of food, and its aroma drifts through the entire neighborhood. We walk down the ramp. Everyone is already scattered around the garden. The sun is slowly setting, and the tranquil surface of the pool reflects its surroundings. It is the end of summer, but this evening is not over yet.
